I am so sick of hearing and reading peoples miss informed comments on a disease they clearly know nothing about. People cant just pull themselves together and suicide is not a selfish act. You dont know what people around you are going through and by making these throw away remarks you have no idea the affect you could have on someone coping will this debilitating disease. The only good to come out of the death of Robin Williams is the hope that his profile will help to raise awareness and educate people about mental illness. Take some time to read this article, it might go someway to helping you understand something that millions of people are going through and take time to consider how your opinions could affect those close to you who are suffering in silence.
