I am soooo tired of clickbait. Any video that is recommended is suspect, especially any video where I am told to watch it to the very end. I not only click on hide all from... whatever site is offering that clickbait, sometimes I even defriend the person whos sharing it. Im not interested in being someones customer, Im not interested in having advertisements pour into my computer -- I bought it for my convenience, not the advertisers -- and as far as FB goes, Im interested in YOUR thoughts, feelings, reactions, experiences, joys, sorrows, triumphs, tragedies, etc. Im interested in your adventures -- YOUR explorations, discoveries, and insights. If youre interested in my journey, great -- Im glad to have you aboard. If you want to buy my books, please go to Amazon and buy some, or go to gerrold and buy some, but thats not the reason for my being on FB, and I hope it isnt yours as well. I like seeing the pictures you take, I like reading about the memories you share, I like hearing about the funny or exciting things that happen -- why? Because it is a way to enlarge my own range of experiences. Vicarious experiences are practice for the real world. Thats why we read -- were hungry to expand the event horizon or our imaginations. Oh -- and just to make sure Im clear about this -- I do like honest political discussions. Not blind thoughtless name-calling, but substantial examinations of ideas. Thats every bit as exciting too. Im here to be excited, Im here to be connected -- not pandered to, not advertised at. And thats how you stay on my friend list ... or not. Because thats how I define friendship. (The ad below pops up only because I included my website address, not because Im advertising, but if you want to buy a book, I wont stop you.)
