I am thankful today for all of the great friends I have in the United States. I am thankful to be able to share our lives and our experiences with each other- to celebrate our differences and more importantly those things that bind us together. I am thankful to be alive at a time when a border doesnt mean that we need to be two solitudes; when the only thing that stands between us is our will to care for one another. I am thankful to all my friends on Facebook who take the time to foster a friendship with me- who give me an ear when I need one, a favour when I ask, and a swift kick to the pants as necessary. I am thankful, especially, to the few of you who have transcended the zeros and ones of virtual acquaintance and have become people I feel truly invested in- who are almost family on a medium that has perverted the meaning of friend. I am thankful for each and every one of you- for everything you have given to me when you didnt have to and often when you didnt even know you were doing it. Happy Thanksgiving everybody- or as we Canadians like to call it, Happy Last Thursday in November!
