I am the latest victim of Hobby Lobby. I did chose to quit so it was all on me but I feel like I was forced a little. Here is my story of Hobby Lobby Ecommerce & I am not afraid to speak my mind as I am no longer an employee. I had been employed for 3.5 years & I heard the same speech from Scott Mclain as many new employees had. I think he told me and about 10 others that we would make good leaders someday and there is a lot of potential in the future. Ok so for 3 years I did more of my team leaders work (and we all know her name) then she did. She sat on her phone leaning forward chuckling for well hours out of the day. If not on her phone then her computer constantly checking her email. I was promoted finally after 3 years to team lead over the packers and suddenly after 4 months of doing the job I get called in and treated so horribly saying I have been demoted. No explanations just told they cant discuss it with me. Let me tell you when there is a target on your back they just make your life a living hell. They wouldnt allow me to be around others so I was isolated in a corner. Worst feeling ever being watched like I stole something. Scott told me the truth that I was unloyal to the company and he just hasnt liked my attitude. He said I make a good associate but he doesnt like me being a team lead, says it bothers him that I have that position. All I can say is WOW!!!! They mistreat their employees, they dont care if you work 7 straight days at 12 hour shift and for that they buy u a pizza, wooptie freakin who! They tell me when temps just arent cutting it that they only keep them for warm bodies. Which if any of you temps are reading this I am most likely talking about you :) My manager Blake Jackson gets to talk about his private parts to my team leader which she brought to my attention (crazy hu, no its not its bc she cant make decisions for herself) and guess what he got? Yup a slap on his hands. I get threatened to be pushed over the edge of a 3 story module by a girl who was clinically crazy & guess who gets called a liar??? Yup ME!!! This company is ass backwards & loves to promote the slower & weaker of the group. They real leaders they devalue & walk all over. Hobby Lobby holds the minimum wage amount over peoples heads but let me tell ya everyone they have a HUGE turnover of employees so what does that tell you??? Oh heres a good one for everyone, our new HR lady (again she knows who she is) is wooweee a snobby little rich girl which we all have said we know what Scott hired her with (clearing my throat). She has the nerve to yell at us at our Friday meetings and tells us cmon people stop using your PPTO for every cough & sniffle. Um excuse me B***** that is our time & you have NO right to tell us what to do with OUR time. She also had to let us know she doesnt appreciate cleaning our lockers out bc someone spills something, heres her amazing racial words, yall are lucky I cleaned ppl because I dont even clean my own house I hire a Mexican lady named Maria ha ha oh wow! She said if ANYONE spilled coffee on my $1200 Louis Vuitton bag I would be furious. The place is a cruel world behind closed doors. They talk mad news about well most of their workers. Its crazy to me bc we show up during state of emergency days (we are the only group as they let others off) they dont release us during one of the worst tornado days ever. I think we are pretty loyal too bad they arent like that.
