I am thinking about going to school for Comic book art. In my - TopicsExpress

I am thinking about going to school for Comic book art. In my youth, I used to draw comic book characters a lot. My primarily influence was John Romita Jr., John Byrne, and Paul Smith, with some others. I once drew a picture of Illyana in high school that was a combination of Romita Jr., Byrne, and Jim Lee styles and it was stunning ... a lot of people liked the pic. It was poster sized and I entered it for a contest, and I think it actually won something. (I cant remember what the contest was now since it was so long ago, and unfortunately I think I never got the pic back from my high school). I have since lost some ability since I dont do it regularly anymore. But I miss it. Anyone have any recommendations for a good comic book school? Are there any that have a mail correspondence or an online program? What do you think about the Joe Kupert school of art? Also, I am a pretty good writer and wouldnt mind writing some comics, either ... Any suggestions?
