I am trying, today, to rationalize what in the world God is trying - TopicsExpress

I am trying, today, to rationalize what in the world God is trying to get through to us with Lisas illness. It came to me as I am getting ready to vacuum and scrub and I really dont like doing either, so maybe that is what God is doing...telling me to pray and ponder instead of cleaning and dusting. Thats one thought. The other is that maybe we are being tested to see just how patient we really are. We tell our kids to be patient, we tell each other to hold on, we tell God were too busy to visit with Him, but, do we ever think of how Impatient we are? I dont, because I think I am almost the most perfect person ever! I mean..e on now! What in the world could I do that Im not doing????? PRAYING, perhaps? Asking for more patience, or counting my blessings, or giving time and prayer and effort to those who have so much less? Earth isnt supposed to be parties and games and laughter and joy all the time or we wouldnt work to get to heaven. We would become lazy and mean and selfish and nasty (kind of like my breath after my 3rd cup of coffee!). And I have to tell you, if God says there is no cancer in heaven, I will be first in line for a ticket there. Too many people I know have had to suffer through this crappy illness that if there is somewhere where it aint, I wanna be there. If God is using all of us (Lisa included) to help teach a lesson, stinky as it is, I feel really privileged. If God is the teacher and we are the chalk He is holding to give us the lesson on the chalkboard of life, we can feel such joy and excitement and utter speechlessness. To think we are being held by GOD! He is actually holding us in HIS hand! Kind of like meeting George Clooney, Abraham Lincoln and Billy Graham all for lunch only 1000 times better. So when the combine breaks down, or the kids break the dish or our car has a flat or we see all those darn weeds in the garden...maybe we (me) need to look around...God is there and this is a test. If He will give me a chance to pass this test, and He will, I will study my A** off to make the grade. Lisa, we will all work to be right there beside you, no matter where and how this goes. And dont be so afraid of the unknown because your best friend, God, knows all about whats next and He is holding your hand. Now, you tell me that, as I walk with you and want to stop, turn around and run back. Maybe thats what is meant by us all being family...holding each others hands when we are scared.
