I am writing about Peyton Manning for my Term paper for Human Resources in Sports Administration Masters class. This is not a paper about his recovery from neck injuries, but rather a paper covering the pre-employment screening/background checking of an athlete before a signing. I am assessing the uniqueness of the Peyton Manning case before signing with the Broncos and during the ongoing relationship between the club and himself. Most of the time if an athlete fails a physical they are simply not signed or the trade is voided. Peyton Mannings neck injury case is unique in this regard. The Broncos took a bit of a gamble. If any of you would like to read it when I am finished let me know. I will probably post it here at the conclusion of my semester so I do not get in trouble for sharing my paper before receiving a grade on it.
