I am writing this because I have heard of, or personally know so many people that have lived in the general are of Landover Hills, Riverdale, Capital Plaza, etc. that have had cancer or currently have cancer. Most of these people seem to be between the ages of 50-60. I find this very interesting and was wondering if it may have had anything to do with the area we group up in. If you or someone you grew up in this area and has cancer now or has had it in the past and would like to know as well, please state your name, what town your grew up in, the type of cancer you had, and your age and year your were diagnosed. Once we have an idea of how many people this terrible disease has affected, we will then decide how to proceed. I myself was diagnosed with kidney cancer in Oct. 2013 when I was 49 years old. I am doing well today. My bother John was diagnosed with lung cancer last Dec. at the age of 53 and passed away in April of this year. My sister, Sally was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 4 years ago. She passed away in March of this year. She was 57 My brother, Tom was diagnosed this year with Vena Cava Syndrome at the age of 54. Thank-God, he is still alive. I also had a brother Pat that passed away from cancer over 11 years ago. He had lung cancer.
