I am writing with the very sad news of the death of Sycamore’s Fred Simmons who was beloved by his family, friends and community. Fred died early this morning at John Randolph Hospital after a long illness, and I want to continue to encourage you to hold his family and friends close to your heart in prayer. There will be a visitation for Fred at J. T. Morris in Hopewell on Tuesday from 6-8 pm. His funeral will be at Sycamore UMC on Wednesday, June 12th at 11 am with interment following at South Lawn Cemetery just off of Crater Road. Afterward, Sycamore will host a celebration of life reception in our fellowship hall for family and friends. If you would like to contribute a dish, please bring this by the church by 10:30 am on Wednesday. This event is hosted by our UMW so please call Marty with questions.
