I appreciate the nomination Nathan Gray. I accept! I look up at the sky just about every night. In recent nights, Ive been blessed to be located in a camp that is miles away from big cities with thousands of lights. This allows me to see just the edge of the spectacle that is our universe. I see a night sky that is FULL of both beauty and intensity. HUGE BURNING BALLS OF GAS!!! I mean, theyre crazy dangerous! Theyre not safe! However, they are overwhelmingly beautiful when viewed through the proper lens... and distance. God gave me that view. I can also hear the choir of insects that surround my cabin. Their chicketting and bricketting goes on with no end. Crickets and whatever cousins are among the trees party all night to create the soundtrack to my extended F.O.B. (Flat On Back) each night. Most nights, I pay them no mind, but some nights, I just listen. I listen and think about how even though I probably step on 25 a day just on accident, God created each one of those insects with intricate detail. The trees were created with design that hasnt needed an upgrade or reboot since the day He made the first edition. Yet, each issue is still unique. I live on a world that has been stepped on, dug up, surfed, flown around, hiked upon, driven on, blown up, and whatevered for hundreds of years and there are STILL parts that are just sitting there for Gods glory alone, because nobody will ever see them. There are galaxies that will never get a Hubble Instagram shoutout. There are fish that will never get on a page of National Geographic. My God still made them with perfect purpose and intention. Then I have this body. This brain. These muscles. These gifts. This life. God found time in His hectic editing schedule to create a special project. One that was different than ALL the rest. One that didnt have basic programming. One that didnt just sit and be. One that has free will to even think and type this paragraph. He created man. Facebook creating, thought perceiving, self aware... man. He created me. I think, feel, act, LOOK... like ME and nobody else. (perfectly, at least) Birds, cats, dogs, oak trees, and cherry trees are all amazing. However, Ive not once seen one of them... create. Now Im not talking about MAKING. Making is having something come about by using what you have. Trees can make more trees from stuff thats already there. Birds make more birds from stuff thats already there. Birds make nests using stuff thats already there.... usually the stuff the trees left behind- my point is, Man and woman... Men and women, are given thought. God has given us cognition. As a result, He has given me the opportunity to look up at the night sky and know that I am loved. I can know that I was made with intention. Most importantly, I was made different in this ONE way with ONE purpose that is different from all of creation. What makes me different from that Oak tree in your back yard, was I... you... WE... were specially made to KNOW God. Not just be aware of God or have an effect by His presence, but to know Him. Thats why I love Him. #JesusChallenge So, I challenge Josh Surita, Joshua Uy, and Mildred Williams. Tell us why you love Jesus.
