I asked my Dad the question that so many Israelis have asked me, Why is Prime Minister Harper of Canada so utterly, unequivocally pro-Israel? My Dad said that Harpers father told him that Jewish families always helped him out when he was looking for work, gave him jobs, and they were especially kind to him. He told his son to always remember that and treat Jews fairly and well. Its amazing how unknowingly these acts of decency and goodness done generations ago would have such an exponentially important effect on Israel at this time in history. None of us knows the impact of our good deeds on future generations. I often think all the good I am receiving in this lifetime has only come from the merit of the good deeds of my ancestors; surely the blessing of living in Israel is the result of all those who worked to help create the State of Israel.
