I attempted to get Packers Randall Cobbs autograph last night. He was signing locally from 6-8pm. I joined the end of a really long line at about 5:30. I was told right away by event staff that judging by the 2-hr window and the number of people in line that our section most likely wouldnt get autographs but we were still more than welcome to try. The line kept getting longer and longer and people were still coming in after 6pm. Everyone was told the same thing - you most likely not get an autograph. I still had a fun time in line and the 2-hours went fast but as predicted, I was about 50 people too far back and I was one of 200+ that went home empty handed. I was bummed but completely understood. Unfortunately, several other Packer fans did not. They were shouting at Cobb, 1 more hour! 1 more hour! At least let the kids through! Youre crushing these kids! How can you do this to the kids! I felt terrible for Cobb. Cobb was a last minute addition after Sam Shields backed out. I know he got paid but these were free autographs for fans in attendance. He didnt owe anybody anything. As happy as he made those who got signatures & a picture, others left devastated. Damned if you do and damned if you dont. Its no wonder so many athletes become sheltered and jaded. It really bugged me how people were reacting. #Packers #RandallCobb
