I attended the tribal inauguration today. I am thankful for - TopicsExpress

I attended the tribal inauguration today. I am thankful for everyone that came over and shook my hand, gave me a hug and those encouraging words. I attended the Tribal Council Meeting that was held to discuss my situation. I asked to be seated as the Tribal Secretary but the room fell silent. David Flute made a motion to declare the position vacant and it passed. They elected Winfield Rondell Jr to act as Secretary until the new election. The council is going to wait for Judge Jones to tell them how he thinks the Election should proceed and they will meet again on friday. I should know by then if I will be eligible to run or not. At this point I dont have much hope in his decision. I dont have much hope in the newly elected officials to offer me any support. The only hope I do have is that of my supporters. I hope that you will speak out and voice your concerns to your elected officials. What has happened to me is unjust. It is not right. I was not given due process. I was not given fair treatment. A precedent has been set for future elections and this is not how our tribal government should be run. I cannot understand why our elected officials do not seem to be concerned about this. I guess when it happens to one of them the opinions will change.
