I believe Adrian Peterson thought he was disciplining his child and although I dont agree with the method of excess I totally understand as a black person. We should examine where this mentality comes from. .. it definitely comes from slavery, its one of those behaviors passed down from generations, we had to train our children so master or the overseers wouldnt kill or send them away. Its how master and the overseer tourtured and terrorized our enslaved ancestors. Sometimes it worked and sometimes not. And now its something in our genetic code of thought we may have the same reason for this discipline...we dont want the police to kill our children and beating them is how some perceive getting a child to understand authority...sometimes it works sometimes not. We cant just write off what weve learned culturally, we must ADDRESS IT! #MustTeachBetterWays
