I borrow Russian books from Vancouver Public Library for my mother. Thought it would be good for her to go there with me, see the library (one of my favorite buildings in the city) and choose the books herself. So this Saturday I say Mom, lets go pick up new books. - Oh no! I cant! Get whatever books you see. - What exactly you cant? - I cant walk. - You just walked yesterday around the block for a few times. What happened? - Nothing, I just cant walk. No, Im not going, no. OK then, off I go by myself. Boris says that literally 10 minutes after I was gone, mother comes out of her room all dressed and ready to go, asking where I am. It now happens all the time. No if the first reaction to any suggestion to do something or the answer to any question do you want this?. It seems that saying No is so much easier than thinking and deciding on something, anything. - Mom, go a walk, the weather is nice. - No. Then in 5 minutes off she goes. - Mom, do you want a snack now? - No. I bring it anyway, she eats with great appetite. Strangely enough, Im getting used to that behavioral pattern. This is me just venting.
