I bought a lot of books when I was elementary school, from the Scholastic book thing (thats the technical term). I remember about 2 of them that werent Garfield books. One of those was a book from what would later become my favorite series by, in my opinion, the greatest author to ever live. It was titled So long, and thanks for all the fish Now, for those of you who are a bit more astute, youll notice that this was the the 4th book in the in-aptly named Hitchikers Trilogy. I was a bit lost, and it was a bit over a 10 year olds head, but I loved it all the same. I eventually got the other books from the library, and burned through the entire series. Then I read it again. Thus began my love affair with Douglas Adams, and british humour in general. Today is My favorite authors birthday, and he would have been a marvelous 62 years old. Douglas helped inspire my appreciation for technology, science-fiction, humor, and even to a large part, my (lack of) faith. Happy Birthday, Mr. Adams. I raise my Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster to you. Cheers. (check out the BBCs tribute via the link below. they put the original H2G2 game on the web!)
