I called St. Bernards administration today with my questions and concerns over dad. We had a very productive meeting with the doctor, surgeon, and head nurse. I am so appreciative of the fast actions taken by the admins. The pancreas appears to be fine. Thanks be to God. His bilirubin numbers and liver enzymes are going down after the stint was put in place yesterday. However, there is a large amount of inflammation in the duct from the very first procedure. They want the inflammation gone before they take the gallbladder out. It is too risky to do it like it is. So we now have a plan. He is staying in the hospital for another day or so to make sure numbers continue to decline. Then he will go home for two weeks to allow the ducts to heal. His numbers will then be checked again, stint removed, and surgery will be scheduled. Thanks for everything!
