I came across this Southern Baptist Minister who says he preaches - TopicsExpress

I came across this Southern Baptist Minister who says he preaches out of the Book of Mormon, and I was like, “No way, that can’t be right”....so I did a little research and then sent him an email to verify if he was a “real Baptist Minister”.... Ha! Here is a segment of his reply…. ”Yes, I am a Southern Baptist minister who for these past 28 years has been preaching out of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. My passion is building bridges. I have a saying--I believe Bible-believing Christians and Book of Mormon Christians have far more in common than all our differences. Are there differences? Of course. But its time we began celebrating our commonalities rather than magnifying our differences. Yes, Im very much still active in the ministry. I do a lot of traveling, preaching here n yonder. I preach in LDS churches and I preach in Baptist churches. Im blessed in that Im accepted in both camps.” ......Well after reading his email reply, I was like…”That is so cool!”. What a great passion to have, building bridges. I told him about the Bible photo book I made as a tribute to my mother who loved the scriptures. And I explained that there were 5 different faiths represented in the models that posed for the images in my book. I told him it was such an awesome experience to pull together youth and children from different faiths here in the south to accomplish this project. I, personally, have a Baptist brother, a handful of Catholic cousins, a few non-denominational Christians, and of course a few Mormons scattered about in my family and I love and respect them all. I witness them building beautiful families, teaching their children to put God first and to serve others, and it makes me so happy! I think that was my favorite part of the “Meet the Mormons” movie I saw last week was how living your faith strengthens family relationships, deepens your love of culture and brings great joy and peace to our lives. I love the diversity of faiths here in the south, I cherish the southern culture of kindness and gentility and I know it pleases God that I teach my children to follow the admonition of Paul….if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things. #MeetTheMormons #southernliving #LynnRidenhour #PhotographicTributetoBiblicalWomen #ShareTheGoodness #Baptist #Catholic #Christian #LDS #AdmonitionofPaul #Diversity
