I can grasp that the immense time involved in evolution can bring forth adaptations that seem impossible to select for as advantages. The eye seems too complex to reduce to an advantage before the entire complex of lens to optic nerve is in place..... But ancient fish had light sensitive cells that were an advantage in a predatory light and dark sea and I can see the chain of events that led to "seeing" But the diving bell spider that traps air in a web underwater, then lives in this air pocket to hunt aquatic insects..... This one is beyond my imaginative abilities to string together in phases of adaptation......it seems more like one day a spider with some serious arachnid IQ turned to his buddies and said " dudes, check this out"
