I cant tell you how heartbroken I am this morning. Since hearing - TopicsExpress

I cant tell you how heartbroken I am this morning. Since hearing the devastating news that yet another beautiful child has lost their life to a blind cord. It opens such raw painful memories of the day Sophia died. There seems to be a pattern happening at the moment, 3 blind cord deaths happening just 6 months apart. This is why raising awareness is so key, it can save lives. Unfortunately it takes such a tragedy to happen to highlight the issue even more. No more children should die. Blinds take lives, they devastate families. One more family has to bury their beautiful daughter. A little girl who was probably so cheeky, so intelligent, just like my little Sophia and beautiful Sophie. I am just distraught. Please, if you have blinds in your home, remove them now. Dont take the chance. If you are a parent, grandparent, carer, anyone who has children in their home, make your blinds safe or remove them all together. Cordless blinds are the only safe blinds. So many people underestimate what children can do, they dont think their child would ever play with a blind. But often, the first time a child plays with a blind is the last time. Blinds are silent killers. Death happens silently and quickly, children have died in close proximity to their parent/carer. There are no screams, just like drowning, strangulation happens silently. Dont risk it. Thank you everyone for all of your kind messages. Please send your love and prayers to the family in Ireland xxxxxxxxx
