I captured the near-earth asteroid 2004 BL86 in a 5-minutes - TopicsExpress

I captured the near-earth asteroid 2004 BL86 in a 5-minutes exposure using a 9.25-inch f/6.3 telescope from Swisher. The asteroid flew quickly past the earth at a distance of 745,000 miles. The asteroid moved approximately 10 arc-minutes in the sky during the exposure, or about 1/3 the apparent diameter of the moon. There is a faint barred spiral galaxy near the left edge of the image. The galaxy is16.2-magnitude UGC4592. It lies about 160 million light-years distant.
