I chose a federal government job after my full time Army gig was through, because there still wasnt much in the private sector available. I have never felt easy about that decision, and being one of the furloughed workers, I would say that my unease has been justified; still, the time off has been nice even if my bank account does not agree. I have taken a job below my education level; a job with little advancement prospects; a job whose data practices are very suspect in certain areas; a job with lower pay than I even had in the Army, much less prior to; but these are the things one has to do to take responsibility to pay bills and feed and shelter ones family, so from that aspect, its alright. I thought I might begin persuading my MBA while working for Uncle Sams civilian sector, but damn, I already have big demands on my time as it is (furlough not withstanding). Dang it all...makes a man wanna punch a granny or drop-kick a koala! Perfectly rational; perfectly reasonable. So where did I put my koala? ;-)
