I come bringing drabble!!!! ^_^ Fluff! Enjoy ^_^ The boy immediately catches Blaine’s eye as he’s walking by because he’s way too well-dressed for a carnival booth worker. Weirdly dressed, sure, with the skull pinned to his vest and the scarf tied loosely around his neck, but Blaine would recognize McQueen anywhere. Unfortunately, Blaine’s not very subtle about staring openly. "Interested?" the boy asks, his voice much softer and sweeter than Blaine was expecting, and it takes him an embarrassing few seconds to realize he’s being asked about the game, not about his sudden and inexplicable crush on someone he’s only just seen. "Yeah!" Blaine says, fishing a few dollar bills out of his pocket and handing them to the booth worker. The boy smiles warmly, and Blaine steals a glance at his name tag. Kurt. "Okay, so this gets you ten rings, and the goal is to get one around a bottle. Think you can handle it?" "Oh, definitely," Blaine says, letting himself flirt a little because he can’t really help it, not with how cute Kurt is and the way his smile lights up his face. "Good luck," Kurt says, and Blaine finally looks across to the bottles and picks one with a teddy bear hanging above it to focus on, tossing the first ring. He misses by a mile, and ignores how flustered he feels when Kurt says, “That was a good try!” Blaine throws again. And again. He tosses and misses until he’s out of rings and then immediately digs a five dollar bill out of his pocket, handing it to Kurt. Kurt looks slightly taken aback. “You want to keep playing?” "I- I really want to win that teddy bear," Blaine says sheepishly, and it isn’t far from the truth. He just doesn’t let Kurt know that he wants to win it because he wants to impress Kurt, and besides, he’ll take any excuse to stick around a little longer. "Mm," Kurt hums, giving Blaine another stack of rings. "A gift for your girlfriend?" Blaine freezes, tilting his head to give Kurt a cautious look. “No, no girlfriend. I’m not really into, you know—” "Dating?" "Girls," Blaine finishes, and he’s surprised to see Kurt’s cheeks start to turn a pretty shade of pink, his grin a little giddier than before. "Well go on then, good luck," Kurt says, and Blaine tries tossing the rings more carefully, wincing every time one bounces off a bottle just to land on the ground. It’s after he nails a stuffed giraffe in the face that Kurt huffs out a laugh, stepping out from the booth and walking over to Blaine. Blaine’s breath catches in his throat as he stares at Kurt up close, a little taller than Blaine thought, but that might just be the way his hair is styled. He’s unfairly gorgeous, though, and Blaine can already feel the blush creeping into his face when Kurt moves behind him, resting a hand over Blaine’s. "Do you mind?" "Not at all," Blaine says breathlessly, and Kurt lifts their hands together, leaning in so his lips are close to Blaine’s ear, the warm breath over his neck giving him goosebumps. "Just focus and try throwing underhand, okay? There’s no trick to it, but you want to try to keep the ring flat in the air." Blaine blinks, warmth still spreading slowly through his whole body. “Got it.” Kurt pulls back enough for Blaine to toss it and it only takes two tries for him to land the ring around the neck of a bottle, his face stretching into a smile as he turns around to look at Kurt. "Hey! I did it!" Kurt laughs, lifting his hand to hide his smile before he steps back behind the booth. “You did it. Ready for your prize?” "I— yeah, of course," Blaine says, trying not to let the fact he no longer has an excuse to hang around Kurt bring him down. Kurt disappears to the back of the booth for a minute but returns with a medium-sized teddy bear wearing a bow tie. It’s pretty cute, Blaine has to admit, even if he’s not really one for stuffed animals. "Here you go. This one hasn’t been hanging up to get hit by rings all day, so I figured— anyway, congratulations," Kurt says, face still pleasantly pink when he hands the bear over. "Thanks," Blaine says, holding the bear in front of him and wishing for something else to say. Unfortunately - or maybe fortunately, Blaine’s not sure - Wes picks that moment to walk over, waving at Blaine. "We’re heading back to the bus now, Warbler Blaine!" "Okay, I’m coming!" Blaine says, voice a little strangled. He looks back to Kurt, who has his eyebrows raised, a grin tugging at his lips. "I should get going, but, again—" "You’re welcome," Kurt says warmly. "Go on, don’t miss your bus." "Right." Blaine hugs the bear to his chest, trying to ignore the sad pang he feels when he starts to walk away. "Farewell." As soon as the word’s out of his mouth Blaine wants to smack himself, but Kurt just beams, waving to Blaine as he leaves. “Farewell, Warbler Blaine!” Wes is giving Blaine a contemplative look when Blaine falls into step next to him, and Blaine groans, shaking his head. "Just— don’t ask, please." "I’m not here to judge. What happens at the carnival stays at the carnival," Wes says, and Blaine laughs, tucking the stuffed bear under his arm and bumping his hip into Wes’. - It isn’t until Blaine’s on the bus with the rest of the Warblers, staring out the window on their way back to Dalton when Jeff leans over the bus seat and says, “Hey, Blaine, what’s with the secret note?” Blaine turns around, eyebrows furrowing. “What?” "On the bear," Jeff says, and Blaine looks down to the teddy bear seated next to him. He doesn’t know why he didn’t see it before - right there, tucked behind the bow tie, is a small, white piece of paper folded up. "I- I don’t know," Blaine mumbles, grabbing the note before Jeff can and opening it in his lap. In small, neat writing is a phone number followed by the words, Call me sometime, xo Kurt. Blaine’s jaw drops. "What is it? Secret message?" "Something like that," Blaine says, smiling brightly and pulling the bear into his lap, resting his chin on top of it. His stomach is twisting warmly, suddenly more nervous and excited than it has any right to be, and Blaine is actually looking forward to getting back to school so he can give Kurt a call. *Grasshopper*
