I come from a Borough called Brooklyn where hoagies are called heros, shopping carts are called wagons, roads are called streets, going on the avenue was a night out, everyone knew someone and you were related somehow, your parents sat on the stoop all night while we played manhunt or hide and seek, every night we had to cross the street to get the bread before we ate, we played handball, hopscotch, skellzie, red light green light, freeze tag and Mother may I. Our moms called us from the window to come in and eat, we hung our clothes to dry outside our kitchen window, we had block parties that lasted till morning, we ate the best Italian pastries and cookies, we had homemade Italian ices not water ice, and we hung out at the park not the playground. All fun times...
