I could understand the frustration with partisan politics. I totally get it, but a party cannot carry out their platform if they dont have the votes. They get the votes when we vote. If we dont vote, universal background checks dont pass, immigration reform doesnt pass, student loan reform doesnt pass, equal pay doesnt pass, minimum wage increases dont pass. These are all planks on the Democratic platform that we want to be enacted. Thats why this election is crucial. Thats why as a proud Democrat, I support the Democratic Party and our elected officials who although outnumbered in more ways than one continue the fight. Nothing will change if we are dormant and apathetic or cynical of the institution when we should be fired up about the issues. You not voting doesnt change that other people, who may or may not have our interests at heart, are. Thats why I encourage everyone to be informed & turn out to the polls in these last days. Your vote matters cause our communities matter, & our states matter & our nation matters. You matter.
