I despise negativity, and I realize this is a hard topic but I am - TopicsExpress

I despise negativity, and I realize this is a hard topic but I am feeling compelled to ask about this this morning: I realize its incredibly hard to think about. As a mom, I personally experienced severe postpartum depression. My dad was actually one of the people who helped me through some of my hardest times and I am still so thankful for that. It was difficult, and at times incredibly painful. I am coming across more and more stories of mothers harming their kids recently - some attribute this to postpartum and others a variety of other reasons. I cannot fathom or understand what can take someone to that place - and I just cannot understand why it is something that I am seeing more now than ever. Its hard to have any bit of compassion for these people - its very easy to have hatred of course, but Im just trying to understand why now and why is this happening more frequently. I just pray for them, and wish there was something that could be done. How can we come together as women to better support each other?? For me, my mind never went to that place. I recall just being exhausted, always wanting to sleep and although I would feel anger at times - I NEVER went there. I knew to reach out, ask for help and talk to someone.... why do these women feel as though they cant do the same? What is happening? How completely tragic....
