I did it - I survived. 7:41 to cover 1.2 miles swimming in the Mississippi River with 58° water temp & then bike 56 miles (unfortunately with 2 rear tire flats to slow me down) & finish it off with a nice 13.1 mile run. Tire flats kept me outside my hoped for total time, but overall Im pleased otherwise. Given the cold temps, 54 minutes for the swim was better than hoped & I feel real good about finishing strong on my half marathon at 2:43. Legs were a little dead from bike, which stinks because I had a real good pace going on it befor disaster struck. But thats the sport of Triathlon. Today as I head home, thanks so much to all who posted words of encouragement today. It meant alot. And I really do thank Visalus and their founders, Ryan Blair, Blake Mallen & Nick Sarnicola. Without them & the Challenge I never would have done anything like this ever, ever, oh no never ever. Thanks to my biggest supporter, the Beautiful Dawn for helping me get through this. And of course I thank my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, because I am a testament that through Him, all things are indeed possible.
