I did it again. Not sure why I continue to have confidence that I can put food on and remember it needs attention while I do email. What is that definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results? This was me making glazed carrots and working for an hour without checking on the progress. It included brown sugar. Left to its own devices that sugar turns into a thick, black, hard caramelized gunk that you cannot penetrate with a knife. I was about to toss out my very expensive pan, but dumped in baking soda and white vinegar. Let it soak for a bit. Gave up and dumped the mess out. Did it again, and added a wee bit of heat. It worked, it actually worked. Picked up the disgusting burned gross mess seamlessly from the pan, and saved a very expensive pot in the process. Vinegar and baking soda. Still working on the insanity issue.
