I did my good deed for the day. I went and put gas in my truck - TopicsExpress

I did my good deed for the day. I went and put gas in my truck around 12:30 am. I turned off of 146 onto Grand here in Bacliff and a small terrier looking dog ran out in front of me off of 18th street and crossed traffic like it was chasing after this SUV that came off of that street. I looked in my rear view and noticed it crossed back Grand and was headed towards Jack in the Box and ran out onto 146 going South towards the old power plant. I spun the Tahoe around and began the chase to keep the baby from being a statistic. I turned on my flashers and kept my eye on it as it began its more than a mile chase. I flashed and honked at a car that came up behind me to keep it from hitting the little dog and the car finally realized what I was doing and came to a stop to help me. I yelled that I had been following to keep it from getting run over. The man then began to help me. We drove down 146 and followed the little dog clear up to the old HL&P plant....she ran like she had been following her master. The man pulled ahead of me into the oncoming traffic lane and the little dog finally got tired and stopped. I parked in the middle of the road with my flashers on and went to the mans car where the little dog crawled under. The man brought out some food and tried to get her out from under the car with no luck. He crawled under the car and grabbed her and I am sure she bit him. I drive with a kennel in the Tahoe and he placed her in there for me. Thank you Lord for holding all the traffic and for letting me and that man catch the little terrier without her getting run over. She is safe in the kennel in the back of my truck and she has a really bad attitude. I am sure she is terrified, she didnt want me near her and growled. I want to return her to her owner. She is either a Chihuahua or a Terrier, Jack Russell or Regular and tri-colored. I will be taking her to the vet to see if she is micro chipped when I get up later. If any of my local friends her recognize her....please let her owner know that I have her. I dont think her attitude would go well at the shelter and they could not find her a home if no one claims her. Please share her picture and spread the word for me please. For the moment she will have to remain in the kennel since she is so small and I dont want my Krewe to hurt her.
