I did not know Robin Williams, though I met him once. He was kind and lovely, posing for a photo with my wife, dressed in pointed pixie-like shoes. It was an HBO party, with 2000 or more in attendance. Robin stood outside by the pool, mostly alone, the way those whom others assume dont want to be approached often are. Im saddened by the apparent depths of his sadness. And Im saddened by memories of his two friends, Chris and Dana Reeve, who I did know. I used to think death was the epitome of loss. Then I learned that life is the acceptance of an unending series of losses.
