I did not know if you had no income and and are not on Medicaid or Medicare you can not sign up for Obamacare if you have assets? Sure hope this is wrong? Shared from a FB post: Deb Phillips Patrick I tried to help a gentleman who has worked all his life get Obamacare. We were told to first have him apply for Medicaid as he currently has no income due to a disability. His Social Security Disability doesnt start until mid April. He had saved and had some assets so he was denied Medicaid. We got the denial letter we were told by the Marketplace Rep we needed. We called the Marketplace again and we were told he again had to apply for Medicaid. I said we had a denial letter. Didnt matter. She said since he had no income he had to apply for Medicaid as the Marketplace coverage wasnt free. We know that. He had some money he could pay the premium for a month. He just needed a little help. We were turned away and was told to call back when he got his first Social Security check. This man has worked hard all his life and our system has failed him miserably. I was so angry with our government at that moment. No help for a person who didnt use the system but paid taxes and worked hard all his life. I will remember this day when I go to vote. I guarantee it.
