I didnt vote for Marty Walsh, but now I understand that I should have. Hes frequently impressed me in his short time as mayor, never more so than in the last few days when he didnt run away from the immigration question:, but responded without hesitation: “They made it here,” Mayor Marty Walsh said, “and only God knows how many didn’t make it here. They’re young people. We have to try and provide them with some opportunities. And I’m not going to be opposed that.” Walsh said it was still too early to offer specifics about exactly where the city might house children. “I know some people are going to be upset about this,” Walsh said, “but we have an obligation. We can’t let these kids not go anywhere. They’re here, so we have to set the proper structure around them.
