I didnt want to link to earlier reports about this controversy, because buzzkill, but for those who are interested, this is a fairly balanced and comprehensive view of the activities of a new to the scene middle aged writer who turned out to be a notorious hate troll with an online record of abusive behavior going back more than twelve years. Multiple identities fronting nasty screeds disguised as social justice activism, disproportionally directed at women, and People of Color: death threats, and more. There are many links in this article which may be difficult for some of you to read. I have no direct involvement in any of this, but I do know a few of the writers who were targeted. I vaguely recall reading bits of the trolls activities some years back, but I dont hang in book blogger circles, and dont recall very much except thinking Whew! Someone to avoid.
