I didn’t have a happy life. My mother was married however she had about 3 men who used to visit her. I didn’t know who my father is. I was very confused. When I was four years I was handed over to an uncle and aunt to be brought up by them. When I grew up, at 13 I was raped by my uncle. I have a 4 year old daughter whom I last saw when she was 2 years old, she was in an orphanage too, however I found out that she has been given for adoption recently. Emerge gave me an opportunity to save some money for my future, making jewelry healed the wounds I had during the past few years. I always wanted to study and do well in life, I sat for my G.C.E. Ordinary Level Exam and passed out with flying colours, I will sit for my G.C.E. Advanced Level in 2014 and I will definitely enter University to study medicine to become a Doctor. I am grateful to Emerge for all the help and support extended to me during my years at the shelter. >
