I disagree with LOWERING the minimum wage, but otherwise agree with the basic premise to stop government interference as much as possible. The purpose of the state should be to ensure abuses and frauds ate difficult, if not outright impossible, to accomplish. Also, the welfare system we now have HAS created an environment of dependency, going from generation to generation, trapping people in virtual poverty. Rather than paying people to sit around at home, Id like to revolutionize the welfare system as we know it, where the federal abd state governments either provide temporary part-time minimum wage jobs (such as cleaning up parks), or, preferably still, subsidizing private employment. I myself was on such a program at one time, several years before I joined the militry, and have regretted only one thing about it- That I only CLEANED the fire station, rather than spent a couple years AS a fire fighter myself.
