I do, in this case, agree with Obama that there is still need for caution before acting. the U.N. must be given access to investigate. Per the attached link (in "comments") to a Democracy Now story today there is cause for serious questioning as to the source of the chemical bombs. Why would the Syrian government have done this so provocatively when it had been made clear this was the "red line" that would lead to active foreign intervention? The rebel coalition includes factions with al-Quaeda affiliations. Might this have been a sinister terrorist move on the part of a rebel faction to provoke intervention against Syria? As with Iraq, if we initiate "invasion" type war against Syria based on unclarified, unverified assumptions the consequences of that invasion might overwhelm by far this admittedly atrocious "excuse" for that invasion.
