I do not like gratuitous or excessive violence in protesting, but, this particular situation is bringing up some very valid and equally important points. There is a lack of respect against citizens perpetrated by police forces all over the country in general (world truly), and it is being a bit more highlighted within the Ferguson controversy. Citizens should NOT fear their police force in the community (police presence sounds better). There are many cases of excessive force, and obviously resulting in death too often, that must stop. We should feel protected, not threatened. Now, I know there are a lot of great cops, there are. To say there isnt is to cast broad prejudice on a group as a whole and no one should be doing that, right? There are plenty of cases where many cops act accordingly, which result in the death of some person with true criminal intent. However, excessive force has gotten out-of-hand. Period. Thats my two-cents. :)
