I do not subscribe to the opinion that the suicide of Robin Williams, or anyone else, is selfish, if the popular connotation is to put self before all others. I have known far too many selfish people, and they were much less caring than him. The truly selfish live on, unable to accept the idea of a world without them, and in their selfishness, destroy the lives of others. To me, he made a free choice, in a society that we have constructed where free choice is everything. Success, wealth, global regard, are not interchangeable with happiness. Depression is a disease, that kills many of its sufferers. What is undisputed is that he was a good man. Flawed, certainly, but who isnt? Whats also undisputed is that the world has lost a good man, and there simply arent enough to lose.
