I dont believe that leaders actually have a title. I think that a leader identifies themselves as a person who wants to break records. A leader is a person who identifies themselves through their work ethic. A leader identifies themselves through their integrity of doing what they say they are going to do long after the excitement of a feeling has left them. A leader identifies themselves by showing up and doing what everyone else wont do to get what everyone else wont get. A leader shows up early and stays late. From day one they action, absorb and truly take in all the information. They want to know not for a temporary moment but for a long term moment that their actions will last long well beyond their lifetime. Leaders have long term vision. They dont have a microwave mentality. They arent sometime people . They are not inconsistent. They are very committed. They become obsessed with their dream. They understand their destination and are not lost in the journey. They are committed to being able to support and love everyone that comes into their life because they know that leadership comes by way of support and the more leadership they have, the more support and love they need to give. Its not the more dictatorship they give. Its not the more delegation they give. Its not the more commands they give. These things come by way of a job. Thats where people have a title and because they have a title, they think they are a leader. And since they are a leader in their mind, they think they have the right to dictate and demand people to do something. In a job situation they do because thats where there are involuntary slaves. Thats where the workers have to do what they are told to do or they will lose their livelihood. To truly create and lead a movement, an extraordinary movement, there needs to be people coming together in one heartbeat. To do this, you need to be an amazing leader who understands that you need to care, that people know you care and that you have their best interests at heart, not an agenda and not a dollar bill. Money is the by-product of great leadership. The greater the money a person makes, you can tell they have helped a lot of people. And that is the true barometer of great leadership. To assess if you have a great leader or not, its not how much money they have, its how many people they have helped. Thats what it comes down to. - Byron Nelson
