I find it very offensive to honor a man who was lost at sea, thought he was in India, bought diseases to a group of indigenous people who were already on a continent,and eventually led to the destruction of the tribal way of life in both North and South America because of colonization. I didnt even mention how his so called discovery created a system of slavery that cost millions of Africans their lives and homeland.
