I dont even know how to explain today. One of the most powerful - TopicsExpress

I dont even know how to explain today. One of the most powerful days of my life. Let me briefly recap: We started the day by going on the boardwalk & checking out the Mediterranean Sea. Saw lots of cats. Gross. And men in speedos. Also gross. Then, we went to Caesaria & learned a lot of history of the area. As you can see, its beautiful! We learned about King Herods era through the city today. Then we got back on our tour bus & went to Nazareth. Yes, Nazareth. Big city now. So cool/weird to walk through the city where Jesus hung out. Mass at the Basilica of the Annunciation in the St. Joseph Chapel. Powerful. Fav Fr. Carl line of the day, Its great to be here in Nazareth celebrating Mass. Never thought Id say that! Its Hervya b-day & randomly someone was playing happy b-day outside the chapel. I think God was wishing him a happy day! Then Hervy sang Ave Maria at the end of Mass. Let me repeat: Hervy sang Ave Maria after Mass. Downstairs of the chapel was the site of Josephs cave/workshop. I cant even explain the feeling. We were exactly where Jesus was as a child. We then visited the main church of the annunciation. Upstairs represented the divinity of Christ--lots of art & beauty. Downstairs was the humanity of Jesus. Much more simple. Also downstairs was the spot of Marys yes (the annunciation). Most amazing thing Ive ever seen. I wanted everyone to stop taking pictures & leave so I could try comprehend how big that moment was. Then lunch. Had to have a coke! PS, the food is ok here. I dont love it, but I dont hate it either. After lunch we visited the church at Cana. Jesus first miracle. Cool connection: his first miracle (turning water into wine) is connected to the last supper when the wine became the Precious Blood. Mind blown. Finally, our hotel for the night. Right on the Sea of Galilee (which is actually a lake). Took a dip in the pool, had dinner (they do desserts wrong), and went for a walk on the boardwalk--had some ice cream & reflected on the day. Ive been hearing about the Holy Land since I was a child. Its all starting to make more sense. Every Catholic should be required to take this pilgrimage. It IS really cool praying for you as Im on this journey. Now, its 9:30pm & I am pooped. Cant wait to see whats in store for tomorrow!
