I dont even know what to type. I want to write a tribute to a friend, but how do you say goodbye to someone who shouldnt be gone? Im supposed to be happy. It looks like the Girl Scouts troop is very supportive and well figure out some education thing for parents and move on. The Royals are going to win Game 7 tonight and be World Series champs (yeah, Im saying it). The fundraiser to get to the London gala isnt going anywhere, but Ive had some support and a lot of great messages from people wanting to support and help with new non-profits, anyway, so those will be able to move forward. Im getting booked for more speaking appearances to talk about trans issues and open even more hearts to the causes I believe in. The film crew arrives tomorrow night from Brazil to take our story back to Latin America and hopefully help families there. Good things continue to happen and I feel so blessed. But today there is just a dark cloud hanging overhead. My beautiful friend...a radiant, talented, loving and intelligent woman, with the most infectious smile Ive ever seen...is gone at the age of 38. Depression is a demon. It takes down even the strongest among us, and often sneaks in with its most powerful attacks when everything seems to be going perfectly in a persons life, and assaults them with such viciousness that they have no time to reach out for help before it takes its final toll. Shocked. Shaken. Numb. I dont know what else to say. RIP, Shanna. I hope you have peace.
