I dont know how the FB social protocol views sharing of comments, but this comment from a self-described Social Conservative, that was posted to some things that I shared earlier. To me, it shows our common frustration with the way our government and our nation is being run. This recognition of our common enemy may be the thing that brings together in unity. From True Poizon Dear Republicans, Having grown up a staunch Republican who led groups and took part in rallies, I am pretty sickened by what I see in you all these days. I am still very socially conservative and always will be, but I see now that its the modern right wingers who are the biggest threat to America. Republicans are not who they used to be... -----American history: We beat the British in the Revolutionary War with lots of help from the French, Spanish, Dutch and tribes. Our 2nd amendment, an amendment I support, was made so we could protect ourselves from tyranny, not so we could run around flashing guns. Freedom is not just an American thing as America is not the only free nation in this world: Vietnam-Iraq-China-Russia-Cuba are not the only other countries in this world lol. I would know, Ive been all over lol. ------Our Constitution makes no mention of capitalism or free market; it does mention WE, WELFARE and UNION though...and Eisenhower even said you dont take away welfare and wages. Its basic human rights. ------Since birth you all have been taught to believe that life is about work, fighting, guns, being a bad ass, war, human cockfighting, blood, guts (while the rest of the developed world is out enjoying life). Republicans constantly use the freedom word, and show military movies all to get you riled up so they can keep invading other countries while the military industrial complex gets bigger and richer (and still no WMDs in Iraq). ------Capitalism. My parents moved to America 40+ years ago and got good jobs, a house, raised a family and had plenty of vacation, good health insurance, good pay, etc. However, greed took over. The richest people became greedy and started cutting jobs while giving themselves bonuses. They got bailed out and bought yachts and rejected loans for us. Executive pay went out the roof while workers in the middle and bottom had their pay cut. This is greed, not liberalism. You all say we should go back to the glory days of America, but in those days the rich were paying an income tax rate around 75%, wages kept up with cost of living and hard work paid off. Yes there are some lazy people, but do you know their circumstances? ------A CEO making $8000 an hour while the average doctor makes $200 an hour and while the poor suffer is not a matter of earning it and hard work (which too many dont), its a matter of dignity and righteousness (plus, lets not forget what the Bible says about greed, being rich, and helping the poor). Charity and donation you say? Thats just another word for tax deduction. Corporations create jobs you say? No, customers do. When people get paid well, they spend well...and this creates a need for jobs. But, employers know the best way to control and divide people is through jobs since people need incomes.. ------It has nothing to do with high wages and taxes. Overseas, only the rich pay high taxes. Developed European nations constantly rank higher than America in health, wellness and unity and they are the most taxed nations in the world; since birth they were forced to give a damn about each other (better wages, universal healthcare, 30+ days time off); the rest of the developed world has figured this out. Pro-Capitalists assume that by giving people freedom to do whatever, they will do the right thing. Clearly, its not working well.. -----Ever notice how the least educated and poorest states in America are mostly Republican? Big brains beats big guns any day. I workout daily and played football as a FB/TE for 9 years, but it doesnt make me bad ass; hurting other people for entertainment is for low life people. ------You cannot call yourself a true American or Patriot when all you do is insult, attack and harass your own people (both sides do it, its childish). Free Speech is a right, harassment and assault is not. When you attack a person or company for using their free speech, or dropping a book, or dropping a news channel...thats Communist. I wont support Communists.. ------Politicians and medias love to stir up controversy to distract and divide people. I will never watch MSNBC or Fox, because MSNBC is extreme left and Fox is extreme right; their jobs are to tell their base what they want to hear to get them riled up. Start learning respect and dignity and start living your life and enjoying it like the rest of the developed world does, we are not living in the 1770s anymore and NOBODY IS TAKING YOUR FREEDOMS AWAY; the gun and communism scare has been going on forever and still no communism or guns being taken away. Thats all Im gonna say, call me ladies (traditional ones)
