I dont normally wade into public debate but this is something that that fires me up. Screw the religious BS for a minute, this is purely about animal cruelty and allowing the inhumane destruction of animals for human consumption on our soil. I dare you to watch this short video and share it with your friends if you feel the same way I do. Ive worked in the Australian beef cattle industry on and off for years and am very familiar with slaughtering animals for human consumption, the humane way, and am also familiar with what postmortem nerve twitching looks like. What you see in this video is not that, its the struggle of animals that are still alive and conscious while theyre bleeding out. Its not a pretty or politically correct video, but one which illustrates the facts without excuses. All Australians should be aware of the facts. My point is, where do you stand on this matter, and do you know whether youre buying halal certified meat or not, whether at the supermarket or a restaurant? If youre not asking, chances are youve bought and consumed it and are supporting it.
