I dont post in here often, usually when I do, it is to try to help someone else but now I find myself in need of advice. I hurt my back on 1/1 and have been put out of work since. I went for a follow up with my physician today and he feels that I have a herniated disc in my thoracic spine and I need another MRI done. I called and spoke with my boss today to advise status and was told that they are not sure that they will have a job for me when I am able to return to work. I know that I am not covered under FMLA as I havent been there a year yet, but if I am on a medical leave of absence, can they let me go? Do I have any recourse at all? I cant afford to be out of work as it is but the thought of not having a job to return to is killing me, not to mention the benefits that I desperately need right now. Any and all advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
