I dont profess to be a football (soccer) expert but I am watching a lot of the World Cup. If there was ever a sport that needed to implement instant replay, this one is a good candidate. Athletes that act like they have been shot and they were not even touched ... others that bite and continue to play without penalty. Referees have a hard time watching everyone and it is so easy to fake a foul on such a large field (pitch?). This sport needs to use some Las Vegas technology and have a camera on every player with a specific side judge watching the close up video and relaying messages to the field judge. Sadly, some teams are winning as a result of which players can provide an Oscar performance of being hit by a bullet. At the very least, after each match, the game video should be reviewed and anyone found to be faking a foul is automatically banned for the next 5 games. That might stop the shenanigans?
