I dont really understand why BOTDF themselves, along with their - TopicsExpress

I dont really understand why BOTDF themselves, along with their fans, or just scene kids in general, seem to be oblivious as to why they get negative attention from people, or if youre BOTDF, also critics. Well, most of the reasons kind of overlap, but BOTDF themselves have a couple extras as to why reviewers and critics hate them as well. So lets look at these reasons, shall we? 1. The way they look Dont mistake this as me saying I think BOTDF and scene kids look awful, so they never should dress that way. Yes, they can, and if they want to, great. But heres the thing -- they are always in your face about how different they dress, and blah blah blah. Whats funny is that by nonconforming to a style of dress (and theres nothing wrong with dressing normally, either; I wear suits and ties a lot of the time, and thats considered normal), they really are conforming, because most scene kids look exactly the same. Is that an opinion? Sort of, because Im pretty sure most people would be able to observe this. The truth is, they dont look different from other scene kids, so theyre conformists themselves. And while I think most of them look awful, they can dress that way, and its alright. They dont affect me, or the way I live, but people dislike scene kids partially because theyre so obnoxious in terms of their look. The same goes with BOTDF themselves, but slightly different, because they focus more on image than their music. Is that an opinion? No, thats fact, honestly. I mean, if you look at their album covers, their music videos, theyre very extravagant, and lavish, compared to their music, which sounds like it was made on Garageband in a 14-year-old boys bedroom. It sounds awful. The thing is, they blatantly put their image ahead of their music. I hate them for that already, because they claim they never meant to have a fanbase of pre-teens, but when you dress like that, what else do you expect? 2. Their attitudes Scene kids and BOTDF have the worst attitudes Ive seen from people. They both act quite arrogant, obnoxious, rude, self-righteous, and just annoying in general. They also both act like theyre insanely different, when again, theyre not. This time, in terms of personality, and well, no, theyre not different. Most are not, some yes. I havent met really any who were, but whatever. Most scene kids Ive seen are really obnoxious, random, rude (especially to authority), offensive, loud, self-righteous (they always have to talk about how something is wrong and wont shut up about it, and they just always think theyre right about everything when most of them barely go to school). BOTDF act quite similar, but in one way they differ, and one thing that bothers me like crazy is that Dahvie wont listen to anyone but himself. He wont listen to criticism, and thats exactly why none of their albums have gotten better. Its all the same crap, over and over. He acts like hes the next incarnation of the Beatles when hes not. His music isnt important, or influential. Thats not an opinion, thats a fact. If you magically made his music disappear, the world will go on. 3. Their attitudes towards haters BOTDF and scene kids have this mentality that haters make them famous, which is not true at all, and not to mention, the concept of haters is just an invention of kids who cant accept that people have differing opinions. Yes, some people blindly hate things for the sake of hating it, but they can have that opinion. And well, we all know how scene kids and BOTDF react to any kind of hate, which is basically just criticism. In all honesty, if every band had the mentality that haters make them famous, I would never listen to music again. Thankfully, none of them are as stupid as BOTDF. I think most scene kids are drawn to BOTDF, not only for their look, but their mentality. Scene kids are the subject of ridicule a lot, but because they make a fool of themselves, not for no reason. And I think scene kids see BOTDF, and while most rational people think theyre making a fool of themselves as well, scene kids see that as inspiration, or some magical bull crap. I dont really know. I mean, the fact that BOTDF/scene kids react so hostile to differing opinions is already a reason enough to have a negative reputation, and maybe if they didnt tell haters to die, or whatever it is they do, they wouldnt have a bad reputation. -Bradley
