I dont see why horse racing is getting such negative press from animal rights activists after the two casualties that occurred at the Melbourne cup today. Yes its completely devastating but there is the same chance that horses I know who spend their lives living in a paddock with great food and care or the ones who are highly trained and competitive could suffer from the same tragedies as the two today. Especially the possibility of spooking at something and causing injury, just one of those freak horse accidents that arent actually that freak. I know that there can be stingy acts in horse racing, but the majority of horses live in luxury cause they are worth a fortune. Maybe more attention should be aimed towards animals who are seriously neglected 🐴
