I dont talk much about religion because I dont think any religion - TopicsExpress

I dont talk much about religion because I dont think any religion totally sums up the way were supposed to live according to the bible. I know we come across people who think they have all the answers, but as humans, we dont. We live out our best interpretation of the Bible. I have chosen not to identify myself by religion/denomination. Thats a personal choice & I know many of you have done the same by saying things like its not about religion, but a relationship. Yet many of us claim to have a relationship with Christ, yet know nothing about who He is or what a relationship with him requires. Our faith as believers is being tested like never before. We cant afford to rely on just our religion, doctrine, or personal interpretation. We have to read the Bible and ask the holy spirit for help in understanding what it means. We also cant afford to confuse those around us who may be watching us for clarification. My husband told me of a situation at work. Its him & 2 coworkers. They start talking about the bible. One guy, who well call Jeff, decides to start telling, Mark that he needs to come up a little higher in his knowledge of the Bible. Jeff then proceeds to start speaking in tongues. My husband says Mark is completely weirded out & obviously confused by all Jeff has said. My husband proceeds to mediate & explain to both of them in simple terms what they were discussing. After hearing the story my heart went out to them both. For Mark, because what an uncomfortable situation to be in. For Jeff, because he confused another soul & missed an opportunity to help a new believer grow in his faith. We are responsible for all we say & do. Especially when it comes to witnessing. You may have more biblical knowledge than someone else but its not to tout or taunt another. Jesus used stories to convey deep, yet simplistic messages so that even little children could understand. If you are not following that model, you may be completely missing the boat & preventing others from coming to know Christ. I encourage you to read your bible & get one that makes sense to you. If you are a believer, when witnessing, remember simple is best unless you know you can go further. We are not after confused converts, but rather heart transplant recipients for Christ! #HappyWednesday
