I dont think his personal views are relevant to his job, either, since he did not enact a hiring policy, bring it to the conference table or otherwise force his views on others. Something he gave a very small amount of money for in 2008 cost him his job for which he was eminently qualified in 2014 - and that is wrong on its face. If we are not entitled to vote our conscience and speak our beliefs on pain of mob reaction (to a point, he was clearly not an anti-gay activist), we abrogate our right to think independently within our free society.
